Gerbrand Bothma CA (SA) M.Inst.D

Gerbrand is the CEO of Tactic Group Limited.

Gerbrand is a Chartered Accountant, and is currently in his second year of studies towards the Doctorate in Business Administration. Gerbrand has gained extensive regional knowledge of specialised financial services, corporate finance, private equity as well as the media industry over a period of 20 years. During his career he has served as the Group Financial Director of several major JSE listed companies including Caxton Limited and he also headed up the investment department of SAEDF, the US$100m private equity fund focused on investment and SMME development in the SADC region. Gerbrand currently is the CEO of Tactic Group, and continues to serve as a director of various other directorships in private companies.

Gerbrand has vast experience in directorship, corporate governance and requirements of listings and related governance matters, and is currently a member of the international institute of directors. Gerbrand was also the Chairperson of Resolution Medical Scheme.

Daan van der Merwe BA (Law), 
BA Hons (Employment Relations Management), Post Grad Dip (Business Ethics)

Daan has obtained significant experience in the Life Insurance Industry, Southern African Medical Schemes Industry and broader healthcare industry, and has garnered an array of operational, managerial, legal, corporate governance and fiduciary knowledge and expertise over a period of 14 years.

Daan was, until May 2009, the Principal Officer of Resolution Health Medical Scheme (RHMS) a  SA medical scheme primarily focused on the blue collar and small business owner market with a base of 100,000 beneficiaries and an annual turnover of ZAR600 million, which he successfully managed for a number of years. 

During his 8 year tenure with RHMS, Daan was involved in in-depth operational, statutory, commercial and healthcare related work and has garnered extensive experience and knowledge of both public and private healthcare management, financing and small business market.  

Daan joined TFS in June 2009 and has been key in structuring and driving the processes of TFS’ and SFHL’s rollout in SA and SSA. Through the research conducted by TFS in the SSA SME market, Daan has garnered extensive knowledge of SMEs, their needs and financial products focused specifically on the needs of SMEs.

Daan is an avid business ethicist and is strongly committed to ethical decision making and advancing ethical business practices.
